Cancellation and Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026
This policy describes how cancelling a paid ESPM (Email Security Posture Management) subscription, operated by NullFortis, works, and when a refund may be available. It's written to match how billing actually works in the product — have it reviewed by qualified legal/finance counsel before relying on it as your organization's official policy.
1. Free plan
ESPM's Free plan has no charge and nothing to cancel — there's no trial period or automatic conversion to a paid plan. You only ever move to a paid plan (Starter, Pro, or Professional) by explicitly completing checkout.
2. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancelling stops future renewals — it does not immediately end your access. You keep full access to your current plan's features until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, at which point your organization automatically moves to the Free plan.
3. Refunds for the current billing period
Because cancellation lets you keep using the plan you paid for until the period ends, we don't issue prorated or partial refunds for time remaining in an already-paid monthly or yearly period when you cancel. This applies to both monthly and yearly (upfront) billing.
4. Changing plans (upgrade/downgrade)
Switching between Starter, Pro, and Professional on an active subscription takes effect immediately — your new plan's limits apply right away. Any price difference is prorated and reflected automatically on your next invoice by our payment processor (Razorpay); we don't issue a separate cash refund for a downgrade's difference.
5. Failed or disputed payments
If a renewal payment fails, we retry per our payment processor's normal schedule and email you to update your payment method. Your plan and access stay unchanged during a short grace period; if payment still hasn't succeeded after that grace period, your organization moves to the Free plan automatically. No charge is made for a failed payment attempt itself.
6. Billing errors and exceptions
If you believe you were charged in error — for example, a duplicate charge, or a charge after you believed you'd already cancelled — contact us within 7 days of the charge at [email protected] with your organization name and the payment date. We review these on a case-by-case basis and, where we agree an error occurred, will issue a refund back to your original payment method through Razorpay. Refunds, when approved, are typically returned within 5-7 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
7. Enterprise and MSP plans
Enterprise and MSP plans are sales-assisted and billed outside of self-serve checkout — their cancellation and refund terms are whatever is agreed in your specific order form or contract, which takes precedence over this page for that account.
8. Contact us
Questions about cancellations, billing, or refunds can be sent to [email protected] or via our contact form.
